Local repeat cooldown

The limit covers all accounts inside one group. Text, copies and forwards from groups, channels or private chats are compared equally. Switching accounts does not bypass the timer. The original author of a forward receives no mark.

The timer starts with the last accepted publication. Deleted duplicates do not extend it. The next accepted post starts a new interval; each group has its own cooldown.

An early duplicate is deleted without an offense, SpamRating change or shared spam mark. A short notice tells the member when the ad may be posted again.

Photos and albums are matched by files and caption. An album counts as one post; changing the photo order does not bypass the limit. Different photos with a generic caption such as “For sale” remain separate. Cropped or reprocessed images may not match: visual similarity is not checked yet.

Separately, in strict mode, the third copy by one sender within 10 minutes triggers an escalating local mute. Reposting the same text after the mute expires triggers a permanent mute in this group. Copies sent by other people never count towards this personal ladder; the spam score does not increase.

How to choose the interval

   Select a group

   Open “AntiSpam settings for my groups” and choose the required chat.

   Open “Repeat interval”

   The setting is shown in the group's Extra settings screen.

   Choose the cooldown

   Turn it off, select 1, 24, 48 or 72 hours, or enter a custom value from 1 to 168 hours.

Notice after deletion

In the same menu, choose “Text and contact”. Send only your addition - up to 150 characters. It appears below the bot's standard reply and waiting time without replacing them.

Choose “Visible only to the member” or “Visible to everyone in the group”. Notices are public by default. New public notices use the group's general “Chat notices” timer, for example 10 minutes. The service owner can enable “Keep notices” for debugging: new public notices then remain in the group, while duplicates are still deleted as before. A private notice is visible only to the posting member and the bot inside the group; Telegram controls its expiry, and offline delivery is not guaranteed. If private delivery fails, the bot never publishes the notice for everyone.

What the local cooldown excludes

• regular replies and short conversational messages;
• active administrators;
• allowlisted or immune users;
• similar but not exact text;
• a different photo set or album caption.

Mass mailing is a separate check

When one account distributes a message across different groups or repeatedly posts a suspicious lure, the main anti-spam detector may use repetition as behavioral evidence. One cross-post is not an automatic conviction: a legitimate listing can reasonably appear in several communities.

Strong content - crypto fraud, fake easy income, a dangerous invite or a suspicious off-platform contact - can combine with repetition and trigger deletion plus the normal punishment ladder. That is a main-detector decision, not the local repeat interval.

Choosing a practical value

• 1 hour for a fast-moving classifieds group;
• 24 hours when one ad per day is allowed;
• 48 or 72 hours for a slower feed;
• custom when the group has a precise posting rule;
• off when exact reposts are intentionally unrestricted.
